About this role

Represents the hotel to the guest through their stay by performing sales and customer service functions related to guest registrations, reservations, and revenue collections. These functions assure guests receive a safe and secure place to stay with friendly, attentive service ensuring a pleasant stay and smooth checkout.

Responsible for total desk operation as Manager on Duty during late evening and early morning hours. Responds immediately to guest requests while maintaining hotel safety and security. Maintains thorough communication with management staff throughout the shift.

Provides the highest quality of service at all times, anticipating guest needs and exceeding expectations. Assists guests efficiently, courteously, and professionally in all service-related functions. Greets and registers guests, handles check-ins and check-outs, and accommodates special requests whenever possible.

Acts as liaison between management and guests, handling special requests and complaints on first interaction. Prepares nightly reports including AM Housekeeping Status Report and security logs. Ensures accurate work in property envelopes and updates pass-on log for next shift.

Requirements

  • Clearly read, write and understand English in order to service the needs of guests
  • Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times and exceed their expectations
  • Thorough knowledge of the room types and the differences between them
  • Assist guests efficiently, courteously and professionally in all service related functions
  • Act as a liaison between management and guests handling special requests and complaints
  • Organize shift and review remaining reservations verifying updated contingency reports
  • Attention to detail for accurate nightly reports and property envelope work
  • Ability to work independently maintaining hotel safety and security overnight

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register guests and provide room assignments accommodating special requests whenever possible
  • Handle guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently, friendly and professional manner
  • Act as Manager on Duty and respond immediately to guest requests
  • Prepare AM Housekeeping Status Report recording same day check-outs, ready rooms and rooms out of order
  • Ensure all wake-up calls are handled promptly and properly
  • Complete nightly backup of property management system on tape and store in safe
  • Complete security report identifying unusual events and update pass-on log
  • Deliver express check-out envelopes to guest rooms before 5:00 AM and newspapers where available
