
About this role
Jekyll Island Convention Center, a Legends Global managed facility, has an immediate opening for part-time banquet servers. This position provides a high quality catering service for banquets. It falls under the Food & Beverage department, reporting to the F&B Manager and/or Assistant Banquet Manager.
Assist with collecting all banquet equipment including flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces for each event. Prepare garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads, while cleaning and filling salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, and creamers. Help with preparation and set-up of event rooms when necessary.
Prepare tables with place settings as instructed and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with standard recipes. Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive manner to support efficient service. Establish and maintain positive client relationships throughout events.
Breakdown tables and banquet equipment after each event, then clean and return serving pieces to storage. Perform cash handling and cashiering functions based on demand. Work flexible hours in a dynamic environment with frequent changes and competing demands.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to work unsupervised
- Must have attention to detail
- Must have good oral communication skills
- Must have strong customer service skills
- Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
- Must have strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work flexible hours
