About this role
Restaurant servers provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all guests. The primary objective is to show guests such a marvelous time they will want to return again and again. Servers report to the restaurant manager.
Servers welcome and greet guests, making them feel comfortable and personally cared for. They inform guests of specials and menu changes, make genuine recommendations, and answer questions about food, beverages, and services. Orders are taken and entered into the point-of-sale system for relay to kitchen and bar.
Food and beverages are delivered timely from kitchen and bar to guests. Servers monitor dining experiences, ensure satisfaction, and respond promptly to requests. They perform side work, maintain clean service areas, prepare bills, process payments, and assist fellow servers or buspersons as needed.

Requirements
- Communicate and understand predominant language(s) of guests
- Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
- Basic math skills and ability to handle money
- Operate a point-of-sale system
- Work in a standing position for long periods (up to 5 hours)
- Safely lift and maneuver trays of food weighing up to 20-25 pounds
Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet guests, making them feel comfortable and personally cared for
- Inform guests of specials and menu changes
- Make recommendations guests will enjoy
- Take food and beverage orders and enter into point-of-sale system
- Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests timely
- Monitor guest dining experience and ensure satisfaction with food and service
- Prepare final bill, present check, process payments or make change
- Assist fellow servers and buspersons with clearing and resetting tables
