About this role

Hotel Maintenance is responsible for maintaining all areas of the hotel in an “as new” condition. Ensures the confidentiality and security of all guest rooms and suites. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, services, procedures and standards.

Perform preventive maintenance in all guest rooms and public areas as assigned by Maintenance Manager or Hotel General Manager. Handle routine maintenance around the hotel, including plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, carpet cleaning and pool cleaning/maintenance. Check pool for cleanliness, appearance, chemical balance, and safety.

Deal with any guest requests and problems and satisfy their needs within acceptable guidelines. Ensures that property and equipment are maintained in a safe manner. Complies with hotel’s safe/security rules while protecting self, fellow workers and the hotel.

Complete work orders, special projects adhering to due dates and deadlines. Be familiar with all emergency plans and act upon them. Make minor repairs on general plumbing systems, fixtures, wallpaper, and electrical systems.

May work at more than one hotel property owned by WOCO. Provide gracious hospitality towards all customers. Strive to represent hotel and brand in the most professional, courteous manner.

Requirements

  • Familiar with all hotel services to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  • Knowledge of correct chemicals and equipment per OSHA regulations and hotel requirements
  • Ability to ensure basic electrical and HVAC systems are in proper working order
  • Skills in pool maintenance including chemical balance and safety checks
  • Capability for minor repairs on plumbing, electrical, wallpaper and fixtures
  • Familiarity with all emergency plans and ability to act upon them
  • Understanding of departmental policies, services, procedures and standards
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks including snow removal

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance in all guest rooms and public areas as assigned

  • Perform snow removal and apply de-icing chemicals in winter
  • Deal with guest requests and problems and satisfy their needs
  • Refurbish furniture and fixtures such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters
  • Complete work orders and special projects adhering to due dates
  • Make minor repairs on plumbing systems, fixtures, wallpaper, and electrical systems
