Legends Global has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Maintenance Technician at Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, NM. This hourly/non-exempt role in the Operations department reports to the Engineering Manager. It focuses on general repairs, maintenance, painting, and miscellaneous tasks at the arena and theatre.

Daily responsibilities include performing routine facility maintenance in fields like carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. Technicians handle minor repairs, troubleshooting facility support equipment, and general cleaning. They complete work orders efficiently while using hand, power, and specialty tools.

The position requires working extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule. Team members report irregularities, safety concerns, or damage to supervisors promptly. Preventative maintenance and data entry for PMs are key parts of the role.

Candidates must demonstrate ability to move quickly between areas and work with minimal supervision. The environment demands familiarity with construction practices and safe operation of tools and equipment. Physical abilities include using hands to handle tools, reaching, hearing alarms, and distinguishing colors.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC techniques and systems
  • Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment common to the construction trade
  • Ability to visually inspect and distinguish colors
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures of the construction industry including operation of tools and equipment according to established safety
  • Maintenance skills including ability to drywall, replace and repair hardware, paint, cut and replace ceiling tile and replace fixtures
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently with machinery
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays based on the event schedule

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor electrical maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures like wall switches, outlets, bulbs, tubes, ballasts, sockets, fuses, and kitchen appliances using hand, power, and specialty tools
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility support equipment
  • Perform minor carpentry repairs including sheet rock
  • Perform minor to moderate-level plumbing repairs and replacement/installation, including repairing leaks in toilets and sinks, and unclogging toilets
  • Complete work orders in an efficient and timely manner
  • Perform preventative maintenance of assigned equipment and systems
  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety or damage concerns or loss of property promptly to supervisor
  • Enter PM’s in assigned database
