The Food Operations Manager is a dynamic, creative, and strategic leader responsible for elevating food quality, student experience, and operational excellence across a high-volume dining environment. This role blends culinary innovation, hospitality-forward thinking, team development, and strong business acumen. It builds an engaging and seamless dining program that serves as a cornerstone of campus life.

You will oversee day-to-day dining operations across residential, retail, and catering services while leading frontline teams to deliver consistent service. Partner with campus clients to strengthen relationships and drive student engagement through feedback programs. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment with focus on safety and compliance.

Requirements

  • Experience in food service management, hospitality, or high-volume dining operations
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide frontline teams
  • A passion for culinary execution, food quality, and guest experience
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients, students, and team members
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and operational compliance standards
  • A commitment to collaboration, innovation, and delivering outstanding service every day

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day dining operations across residential, retail, and/or catering services
  • Ensure exceptional food quality, presentation, and service that aligns with Sodexo and campus standards
  • Lead, train, and develop frontline teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service
  • Support menu execution, production planning, and operational flow
  • Monitor labor, food cost, safety, and compliance metrics to achieve operational targets
  • Partner with campus clients to strengthen relationships, enhance satisfaction, and support campus events
  • Drive student engagement initiatives, including feedback programs and dining experience improvements
  • Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management of hourly staff
